Puppets Come To Life In ‘Avenue Q’
Sioux Empire Community Theatre brings Broadway musical to Sioux Falls
What happens when puppets grow up, leave “Sesame Street” and have to face the real world?
They make a few friends, fumble along the path of self-discovery and find their way into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. The long running Broadway hit “Avenue Q” is coming to Sioux Falls, the latest production from the Sioux Empire Community Theatre.
On Monday morning, some of the cast stopped by the KDLT Orange Couch to tell us more about this coming of age comedy, the third contemporary production that the Sioux Empire Community has produced in its Anne Zabel Studio Series.
Avenue Q opens Thursday, January 15 and continues till Sunday, January 25, with performances Thursdays – Saturdays at 7:00 pm and matinee performances on Sundays at 2:00 pm.
All tickets are only $20.00. Tickets are available for purchase online. Starting Monday, the box office will be open at the Orpheum Theater Center box from 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
WARNING: Due to adult situations (like full-puppet nudity) and language Avenue Q may be inappropriate for children under 13. (Parents should use their discretion based on the maturity level of their children. Avenue Q does employ puppets, however it is not suitable for young children.)
