Stampede Players Deliver “Meals On Wheels”
Giving Back To Those In Need
Senior citizens participating in the “meals on wheels” program in the Sioux Empire got a bit of a surprise when they heard a knock on their doors Tues.
Members of the Sioux Falls Stampede hockey team spent the day packaging and delivering more than 100 meals to people in need across the area.
The meals are brought to those who have a difficult time getting the nutrition they need on their own.
The Stampede participates in the program every winter. Players say it’s an easy way to have a small but meaningful impact on a person’s day.
“It’s just good to help everybody out because they give a lot to us. It’s ways nice to give something back anyway possible. This is definitely one of the bigger things that people do and we like to contribute to it,” said Alec Marsh, first year Stampede player.
Active Generations is always looking for additional volunteers for the program. You can find more information by visiting their website, actgen.org.
