A-Rod issues apology to fans

Is saying I’m sorry really enough? The Yankees’ Alex Rodriguez hopes so.

Rodriguez issued a hand-written apology to his fans Tuesday, saying he’s sorry for the mistakes he made that led to his suspension for using performance-enhancing drugs.

In the letter A-rod said, “I regret that my actions made the situation worse than it needed to be,” and he apologizes not only to the fans but also to major league baseball, the Yankees, the Steinbrenner family, and the players association.

Rodriguez was suspended for the entire 2014 season after he was linked to the biogenesis scandal. He said that the next time he’s in Yankee stadium he’ll be in pinstripes doing his job.

The Yankees owe A-rod $61-million over the remaining three years of his contract and they’ve made no indication that they’re going to release him.

The Yankees wanted Rodriguez to get his apology to the out of the way before the team reports to spring training.

Too close for comfort?

During the swearing in ceremony for new defense secretary Ashton Carter on Tuesday, VP Joe Biden seemed to be getting up close and personal with Carter’s wife.

During Carter’s acceptance speech, Biden called Stephanie Carter up to the podium and quickly put both his hands on her shoulders. He then leaned in and appeared to whisper something in Stephanie Carter’s ear.

The incident took off, quickly trending on social media websites and leaving most with the question, what exactly did Biden say to Stephanie Carter?
