Harrison Ford Plane Crash Update
The National Transportation Safety Board released the preliminary findings on the small plane crash in California that involved actor Harrison Ford.
The report says that the 72-year-old actor took off from Santa Monica Municipal Airport last Thursday.
Very shortly after takeoff, Ford notified the tower that his engine had failed and asked to make an immediate to return to the airport. Ford turned the aircraft back toward the airport and clipped a tall tree before crash landing on a golf course. The report says the crash site is just 800 feet from the end of the runway.
Fire officials moved the plane Friday and it is being kept in a secure location for more examination. The NTSB says it could take up to a year before a final report is completed.
“Blurred Lines” Over Song Rights
A jury in Los Angeles has found that the Robin Thicke song “Blurred Lines” infringed on the copyright of a Marvin Gaye song.
The jury awarded the children of singer Marvin Gaye nearly $7.4 million. The 2013 song “Blurred Lines” written by Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke was deemed too similar to the Marvin Gaye song, “Got To Give It Up” from 1977.
The attorney for Gaye’s children says it was a case about the copyright infringement. The attorney for Williams and Thicke insists the song was written solely by his clients.
Marvin Gaye died in 1984.
The Return Of Blue Steel
Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson made a surprise appearance at Valentino’s Paris Fashion Week show yesterday, channeling their characters from the hit comedy “Zoolander.”
The faux-supermodels, Derek and Hansel, stole the show as they made their way down the Valentino catwalk. While Stiller gave his trademark blue-steel face as Derek, Wilson embraced his model persona, Hansel, by flinging his coat off halfway down the runway.
Following the appearance, Paramount Pictures confirmed that “Zoolander 2′ will be released on February 12, 2016.
