Snow Totals – December 28th & 29th

For the second time in four days, the Sioux Empire underwent a winter storm that brought some places more than a half foot of snow. The heaviest totals have been found in southeast South Dakota, southwest Minnesota, and parts of northwest Iowa. The storm total of 5.4” of snow in Sioux Falls brings the season total to 34.9”, all of which has fallen in the last 40 days. To put that in perspective, last winter (Sept ’14-May ’15) the city’s official total was 31.9”.

Below is a list of the most up to date snow totals that we have received from the National Weather Service from the storm that started Monday afternoon and came to a close early Tuesday morning.
