Treadwell Turning Heads At Vikings Camp
Rookie off to great start with teammates and Vikes fans
Walking out to his first training camp with Adrian Peterson made quite the impression, but it’s the time LaQuon Treadwell spends on extra drills after practice that speaks volumes.
“That’s always been my routine since college and high school. Just always a hard worker. You know, always staying out there, always putting in extra work. It always seemed to pay off.” Treadwell says.
Treadwell began learning pro work ethic from Vikings legend Cris Carter before Minnesota took the Ole Miss star with the 23rd pick.
“We were training together and I was late the first time I worked out with him. And he got on me but he seen how I handled it and I think that’s what made him stick with me.” Treadwell says.
Since the end of the first Randy Moss era the Vikings have been trying to find that number one receiver to replace him. And it’s safe to say that this guy probably had better hands than a lot of those guys. Now if you’re hoping Treadwell is going to be the next Moss you’re going to be disappointed but that’s not a bad thing.
“Nah, I just wanna be LaQuon Treadwell. Randy Moss is one of the greatest to do it. Best of luck I guess to me!” LaQuon says.
“He has nice size, big catch radius. And he’s a guy, if you look at coach Norv Turner’s track record from back in the days, he had those big receivers that would go across the middle and do different things.” Vikings Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater says.
Just because the Vikings don’t have a diva at wide receiver….
“I’m just working hard honestly. Just trying to earn a spot out here and prove to my teammates that I’m worthy.” Treadwell says.
…doesn’t mean they might not have found their next great target.
