Slow Cooker Recipes For First Day Of Fall
Thursday is the first day of fall, and that means it’s officially slow cooker season! We all know you can make great soups and roasts, but the things you can do with a slow cooker, are endless.
Slow Cooker Breakfast Casserole
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 bell pepper
- 1 green onion
- 1 can green chiles
- hot peppers (optional)
- 18 beaten eggs
- 2.5 cups cheese
Dice the veggies, brown the pork, and beat (scramble) the eggs. Then, toss it all in the slow cooker on low for 8 hours. This is great to make overnight for breakfast in the morning. You can top it with more cheese, sour cream, salsa, hot sauce, or whatever else you’d like!
Slow Cooker Chocolate Lava Cake
- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 1 package chocolate pudding (instant or “cook to serve” will work)
- 1 package chocolate chips
Prepare the chocolate cake batter according to the box. Prepare the pudding according to the box. Pour the cake batter into the slow cooker, and dollop the pudding on top of it. Sprinkle chocolate chips over top, about half the bag. Cook it on high for about 2 to 3 hours. When you check on it after a couple of hours, it will look like it’s uncooked; the pudding on top will remain pudding, but the cake will be cooked underneath. Scoop and serve with ice cream, whipped cream, or plain!
