US Looks To End Ryder Cup Drought
Europe Has Won Three Straight Ryder Cups
As you look back over my shoulder you see most of the U.S. Ryder Cup team. And this group of very talented players has something to prove starting tomorrow. After all, Europe has won the last 3 straight.
The Americans are very motivated to celebrate like they did in 1999,I love looking at this old video, ne of the greatest comebacks in sports history . But the Europeans are determined not to let that happen.
“Obviously yes we have the possibility of winning 4 in a row which would be amazing, 1st time in European history, so hopefully we’ll be able to do it.” Sergio Garcia says.
Much like they did in 1999 when Davis Love was on the team, he knows that the Ryder Cup is a game of momentum. And he hopes his team has it at the right time.
“Matches are always close. It seems like once you grab the momentum it’s easier to keep it for a while, but it’s hard to keep it for 3 days.” Davis Love III Says.
“I think that we’re all very excited to be here this week. We have a very different feel and you know, we’ve had a lot of success together as a unit.” Phil Mickelson says.
“This is incredible. If the United States side doesn’t do this I mean that Ryder Cup task force it’s going to look silly beyond belief.” Former Westward Ho Assistant Pro & 2002 PGA Champion Rich Beem says.
They want that, what we’ve seen Europe do the last 3 times. They want to spray the champagne and enjoy the victory.” Love III Says.
It’s a much different environment than the norm. For 1 it’s match play which is something they never do. And the other thing is that the United States has the home crowd. Hopefully a rowdy home crowd on it’s side. From Hazeltine, the site of the 41st Ryder Cup, with Adam Huntimer I’m Mark Ovenden, KDLT Sports
