Red Cross Needs Volunteers In Response To Hurricane Matthew
The Red Cross is looking for volunteers in South Dakota to help after Hurricane Matthew left widespread damage on the southeast coast.
According to the American Red Cross, 3,000 disaster workers are currently responding to the hurricane’s aftermath. If you’d like to help, the organization recommends taking a class to prepare you for deployment. The local Red Cross office is hosting a class on Saturday, October 15. South Dakota volunteers will be assisting in five states affected by Matthew. Volunteers will be deployed for a two-week time frame sometime within the next couple months to help victims of flooding and storm damage. The Red Cross will cover your travel costs, food and lodging during this deployment.
