Byrum Ties For 1st, Loses In Playoff

Onida native just misses first Champions Tour victory

Onida native Tom Byrum played three great days of golf at the Country Club of Virginia this past weekend. He shot on opening round 65 in the Dominion Charity Classic and followed that with a pair of 69’s which left him tied with Scott McCarron after 54 holes.  Tom had a 15 foot birdie attempt on the first playoff hole that just slid by the left edge. McCarron then drained his 8-footer for the win and $305,000. Byrum earned $180,000 and has now made $923,000 for the year. He’s 16th on the money list and has 3 top 3 finishes and 6 in the top ten in 2016.
