Three Juveniles Arrested in Early Morning Armed Robbery, Hotel Standoff
On Sunday, November 20, 2016, around 5:30 a.m. members of the Sioux Falls Police Department were called to Casey’s General Store at 901 East Benson Road for an armed robbery.
The two employees of Casey’s General Store reported two males entered the store and demanded money.
One of the male suspects was armed with a long gun and pointed it at the two employees. The suspects took money from the cash register and ran from the store.
Information was received that led officers to the Happy Rest Motel located at 3307 North Cliff Avenue.
A SWAT callout took place and 10 individuals were removed from two separate rooms. Search warrants were executed on the two separate rooms at the Happy Rest Motel and on the vehicle involved with the armed robbery.
The investigation led to 3 juvenile males to be arrested. One juvenile male was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Robbery, 2 counts of Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
The other two juvenile males were arrested and charged with 1st Degree Robbery and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
