Skyforce Swarm Greensboro

Sioux Falls Wins 114-87

For much of the game, the Sioux Falls Skyforce (5-2) and Greensboro Swarm (2-6) were locked in a back-and-forth battle Tuesday night, but a huge second half by Sioux Falls made that a distant memory.

The Skyforce outscored Greensboro 61-38 in the second half to secure a 114-87 win over the Swarm, but the first half was a much different story.

The two teams engaged in several runs throughout the first quarter, with the Skyforce building multiple double-digit leads only to see the Swarm chip away every time. Tied at 49 just before the half, Sioux Falls gave itself some breathing room with four straight points.

Those four points would end up being part of a dominant 26-5 run that gave the Skyforce complete control of the game. Sioux Falls ultimately outscored Greensboro 33-15 in the third quarter.

Guard Briante Weber tallied his second triple-double of the year with 16 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds. He also added four steals and shot 6-of-12 from the floor (4-of-6 from three).

Forward Okaro White continued his strong debut season with the Skyforce by posting 22 points on 8-of-9 shooting (4-of-5 from three). He was instrumental in Sioux Falls’ third-quarter surge, tallying 10 points in the quarter while nailing both of his attempts from long distance.

Keith Benson added 18 points, seven rebounds and three blocks.

Sioux Falls was locked in defensively, too, holding Swarm guard Xavier Munford, one of the most prolific scorers in the NBA D-League, scoreless. Munford missed all 10 of his shots. He entered the game 13th in the league scoring 22.3 points per game. The Swarm managed to shoot just 38.8 percent.

Rasheed Sulaimon scored 22 points to lead the Swarm, while Mike Tobey had a 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Sioux Falls blistered the nets, shooting 51.3 percent from the floor and 48.4 percent (15-for-31) from beyond the arc.

The Skyforce hit the road to face the Iowa Energy on Saturday, December 3 at 7 pm.
