Youth Sparking Coyote Women To Strong Start

USD 8-2 Despite Injuries & Graduations

VERMILLION, S.D. —
The USD women’s basketball team returns to the court tonight when they host Northwestern of Iowa. Though a win against the Red Raiders is expected, their 8-2 start hasn’t been.

The Coyotes graduated most of the scoring off last year’s WNIT Championship team and they haven’t had the services of seniors Caitlyn Duffy and Jasmine Trimboli due to injuries. Despite that, the young players are stepping up under new coach Dawn Plitzuweit. Freshman Allison Arens is averaging 20 a game, while Sophomore Jaycee Bradley and freshman Ciara Duffy are putting up nearly 15 and 12 a game.
