Animal Control Responds To Dog Bite, Search For Owners

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Animal Control responded to a dog bite at 8 p.m. on Sunday night in the 7000 block of West Lobelia Street.

Officials say a  young boy was riding his scooter on the sidewalk when he passed a leashed dog the boy was bitten on the hand. The dog was being walked by two young white females and one white male, all around 17-20 years of age.

The dog owners did speak with the child’s parents but no contact information or rabies vaccination status was provided.  The dog is a lab and shepherd mix with tan and brown medium hair.

The dog was wearing a silver chain collar and it weighed 40-50 pounds. The man who was with the dog had short, blond hair and he was wearing black framed glasses, a white shirt and khaki pants. Both females were wearing light colored shirts and had blonde hair tied back in a ponytail. The owners and dog walked into the area of West Snapdragon Street before witnesses lost sight of them.
