Sweep At St. Paul Puts Canaries Back In Playoff Hunt

Sioux Falls Has Won Five Straight

ST. PAUL, MN —  Sweeping a Salina or Cleburne is a nice step forward for the Sioux Falls Canaries in Mike Meyer’s first year.

Sweeping league power St. Paul on the road in four games raises more than a few eye brows.

Jabari Henry’s 9th inning homerun was the difference in a 6-4 win over the Saints last night that completed the Canaries four game sweep in St. Paul, the Birds first sweep of the Saints in a four game set since  their championship season of 2008.

The Canaries have talked about making a run at the playoffs and this not only puts them within striking distance of a wild card, it also gets them to within five games of the Saints for the Northern Division lead.

The Birds road trip concludes with the first of three tonight at Wichita.
