Longer Wind Turbine Setbacks Approved By Voters

Lincoln County voters hit the polls Tuesday for a special referendum election regarding wind turbines.

Voters were tasked with the decision to move the turbine setback to a half-mile from homes.  More than 3,600 Lincoln County voters said they do want the setback to be set at a half-mile from homes.  42% of voters preferred the initial setback, which is three times the height of the individual turbine.  More than 6,300 Lincoln County residents voted in Tuesday’s special election.
