Event Planner Shares 5 Tips For An Unforgettable Wedding
SIOUX FALLS, S.D.- Known for her “statement makers” and sharp attention to detail, Katie Jane Murphy’s passion is creating unforgettable memories for her clients at Jane Rae Event Planning.
Murphy stopped by the KDLT Kitchen to share her top five wedding trends of the year that will make your special day one to remember.
When choosing dresses for your bridesmaids, Murphy suggests opting for forgiving silhouettes that flatter any body type. Rather than dressing your ladies in identical dresses, Murphy prefers dresses that have the same theme or color scheme but have different details for each bridesmaid. Watch the video above to see some of Murphy’s favorites!
Good news for couples on a budget: greenery is in! So, rather than feeling like you have to break the bank on your flowers, leafy greenery is a trendy alternative that can feel just as elegant when paired with peonies or garden roses. Brides should try these in their bouquets, too, to add a bohemian touch to your ensemble. Murphy loves getting her flowers from Flower Mill in Sioux Falls.
When it comes to feeding your guests, traditional plated dinners are out; instead, try hiring a food truck or serving heavy appetizers, like the ones featured in the video above. Murphy loves these (not only because it’s way cheaper than a caterer!) but they also allow guests to mingle more and not feel tied to their table.
