STATE B-Cole Anderson & Vermillion Steal Home & Win From Dell Rapids

Steal Of Home Gives Vermillion 3-2 Win

WINNER, S.D.  —  For the second straight day, Vermillion’s Cole Anderson stole home.

It was a tad more dramatic today.

Anderson stole home in the 9th inning to give Vermillion a 3-2 walkoff win over Dell Rapids in the State B Legion Baseball Tournament in Winner on Saturday evening.  Anderson stole home during the team’s 13-2 win over Groton on Friday, and was in the middle of their game tying rally in the 7th.  Down to their last out, Anderson’s reached on an error that allowed the tying run to score.

Vermillion will face Spearfish tomorrow night at 7 PM for a spot in the championship game on Tuesday.  Spearfish defeated host Winner/Colome 10-0 after the Dell Rapids-Vermillion game.

In the elimination side of the bracket, Platte-Geddes defeated Groton 12-4 and Miner/McCook knocked off defending tournament champion Milbank 6-1.  Miner/McCook will face Dell Rapids in an elimination game to begin the day at 1 PM.  30 Minutes after the conclusion of that game Groton will face Winner/Colome in the second elimination game.
