Director, Finance – Profile
Location: Sioux Falls, SD
Job Description: Provides direction for strong financial stewardship and overall accounting and administrative practices. Strategically builds a productive and focused team to achieve the objectives of the department. Manages the operations of the department including, month-end accounting and reporting, budgeting and forecasting, short and long range planning, legal and regulatory compliance, and providing professional and/or technical expertise. Must have working knowledge of accounting principles and standards. Must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Must be able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks effectively. Must demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail. Must understand relationships between segments of Sanford. Must have vision and values that are compatible with the organization, embrace systems thinking, be skillful at managing change, and understand a systems approach to problem solving and process improvement involving staff.
The Director of Finance plays a strategic leadership role within the business with the goal of positioning the company for sustainable growth while maximizing top line revenue and profitability. In addition, this position oversees the financial accounting, treasury, budget and financial planning and analysis functions for the entire organization. Responsible for budget development and monthly forecasting including performance measurement, budget management, resource allocations and trends analysis. This role reports directly to the Vice President who leads the organization who will rely on this role to anticipate trends, manage risk and assess capital investment opportunities.
-Responsible for providing leadership across the organization that includes short and long range planning, technical knowledge transfer with operational partners and the development of a culture that supports strong financial stewardship.
-Establishes, coordinates and maintains an integrated plan for the fiscal management.
-Responsible for the operating and capital budgets, including revenue and expense budgets, cash forecasts, profit planning and programs for capital investments and financing.
-Responsible for planning for the protection of facility assets, establishing and maintaining adequate internal controls and auditing functions.
-Coordinates system wide annual capital and operating budget process, ensuring consistency in methodology.
-Strategically builds a productive and focused team to achieve the objectives of the department.
-Manages the operations of the department including human resources, budget and finance, short and long range planning, legal and regulatory compliance, and providing professional and/or technical expertise.
-Develops and monitors appropriate indicators for continuous improvement, as well as oversight of Corporate Accounting Department.
Job Requirements: CPA required. Graduation from a recognized college or university with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance with a minimum of five years of public accounting experience.
