Two People Injured In Two-Vehicle Crash In Western Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Two people were injured following a crash in western Sioux Falls Monday morning.

The crash happened near 22nd Street and Kiwanis Avenue at around 11 o’clock. Police say a truck pulling a trailer was headed north on Kiwanis when a tan Buick turning south from 22nd Street pulled out in front of the truck.

Police says the 34-year-old driver of the Buick, of Woonsocket, appeared to be bleeding from the face and was cited for failure to yield. The 65-year-old male passenger in the car, also of Woonsocket, had to be extricated by Sioux Falls Fire Rescue. He was put on a stretcher and taken to the hospital. Police say the man suffered a collapsed lung and a possible concussion.

The 23-year-old driver of the truck, from Sioux Falls, was not injured.
