Orion Classic Flourishing As Champions Tour Brings New Event To Sioux Falls
Classic Has Raised 5.7 Million In 21 Years
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — For the 22nd year the Orion Classic is bringing Champions Tour pros to Sioux Falls for the benefit of the Children’s Home Society.
Next year things could look a bit different when Sioux Falls will also have a stop on the Tour in September.
Onida native Tom Byrum and Graham Marsh were among the pros out today at the Sioux Falls Country Club and are regulars in this event. Over the Classic’s first 21 years they’ve raised more than 5.7 million
That’s why it’ll continue to be a favorite stop for the Champions Tour even next year when Sioux Falls will host a regular tournament, the Sanford International.
“We’ll have to see what the schedule is as far as what’s around the South Dakota event for the Champions Tour and then kind of what they feel the best time of the year is. This isn’t going to go away no, this is too good of an event for these kids.” Byrum says.
“Anybody with a heart would just say this is something I could never miss. You always have to be there if there’s any chance of raising money or any chance of doing something for the kids, you just have to do it.” Marsh says.
