Police Arrest 43-Year-Old Woman In Connection With April Hit-And-Run
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Sioux Falls police arrested a 43-year-old woman on Thursday in connection to an April hit-and-run incident.
On Thursday, April 20th, 2017, around 10:30 p.m., a 44-year-old man was crossing North Western Avenue and was injured after being struck by a white Buick Century. The car was turning from West Madison Street onto North Western Avenue and continued driving south after striking the pedestrian.
A tip led police to the suspect’s car and detectives were able to determine the driver was Lydia Consuelo Torres, a 43 year old Sioux Falls resident.
A warrant was issued on August 8 for Hit and Run, No Driver’s License, No Insurance, Failure to Yield, and Allowing an Unlicensed Driver to Operate a Vehicle.
Torres was arrested on August 10th by the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office. The warrant carries a $1,500 cash bond.
