Renner Rallies Past Vermillion In Rain Delayed Slugfest

Renner Returns To Title Game With Wild 17-13 Victory

MITCHELL, S.D.  —  The Vermillion Red Sox and Renner Monarchs waited through a nearly three hour rain delay to play their State A Amateur Semifinal game on Saturday night at Cadwell Park in Mitchell.

They then made fans wait quite a while to find out who would advance to tomorrow’s championship.

Renner rallied from five runs down, scoring in every inning to defeat Vermillion 17-13  in a game that lasted more than three hours.

Renner will face the Sioux Falls Brewers for the State A Title in a little less than 12 hours at 11 AM.  It’s the 15th consecutive year that the Monarchs will play for the championship.
