Sioux Falls Advances To Little League World Series

Defeat Webb City Missouri 6-0 In Midwest Region Title Game

WESTFIELD, IND  —  The greatest summer vacation members of the Sioux Falls Little League team have ever had will last a little longer.

And include a trip to Williamsport, Pennyslvania for the Little League World Series!

Sioux Falls defeated Webb City Missouri 6-0 in the Midwest Region Championship game on Saturday morning to punch their ticket to the Little League World Series in their first year of eligibility.  The team has yet to lose in the postseason, sweeping through this week’s Midwest Regional and the SD/ND District Tournament at the end of July in Rapid City.

Sioux Falls will face Greenville North Carolina in the Little League World Series on Friday night at 7 PM on ESPN.

Marcus Phillips struck out 11 over 5.1 innings and started the scoring in the 3rd inning with an RBI single.  Jack Radel and Bennett Dannenbring each had 2 RBI.  Radel got the final two outs of the game as Sioux Falls held the Missouri team to just two hits in the game.
