Search Suspended for Wanted Man in Hand County

HAND COUNTY, S.D.- The search for 25-year-old Trent Voges has suspended.

Authorities say the dog and drones used in Sunday’s search neat St. Lawrence could not locate him.

Some officers will remain in search mode but volunteers and neighboring agencies have been released.

Voges is wanted in Minnehaha County for failure to appear on drug charges, he was last seen in Hand County.

People are being asked to remain alert and cautious.

Voges was last seen at a home Sunday one mile east and 1/2 mile south of Miller. He fled south and has not been seen since.

Voges has five warrants out of Minnehaha County.

Anyone who sees him is encouraged to call 911 and report his location.

Police are also looking for assistance in attaining Voges’s latest cellphone number, anyone with that information is asked to call 605-853-2408.

Authorities are unsure if Voges is armed, and ask that people do not confront him.

Those that know Voges are asked to encourage him to surrender. The Sheriff warns helping a fugitive avoid detection could result in charges.

HAND COUNTY, S.D.- A search is underway in St Lawrence for a wanted man out of Sioux Falls identified as 25-year-old Trent Voges.

People within a 10 to 15 mile radius of central Hand County and along US Highway 14 should secure their cars and property.

Remotely controlled drones are being used and a K-9 unit from Jerauld County is on scene.

The suspect was seen by residents south of the Midway Drive Inn Theater.

It was reported that suspect was wearing bib overalls.

Hand County Authorities say Voges was passing through the area and is now causing considerable trouble.
