Police Still Searching For Handgun Related To Monday Night’s Shooting
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Sioux Falls police are still looking for the handgun used in a homicide Monday night in Bakker park.
Authorities say they searched the park yesterday based on witness information, however they came up empty-handed. The department is asking for help from the public in their search for the gun.
They hope anyone who finds it or has knowledge of where it is will contact police.
“There certainly is a concern that that gun can fall into somebodies hands, maybe a child or something, that we certainly don’t want that to happen. We’d like to get it recovered for a number of reason but public safety is one of them,” said Capt. Loren McManus.
18-year-old Dylan Holler was arrested Monday night on several charges including first degree murder.
Police say he shot and killed a 17-year-old boy at Bakker park following a fight over drugs.
