Hybrid Turkey Hatchery Coming to Beresford
BERESFORD, S.D.- Governor Dennis Daugaard will be in the area this week to attend a groundbreaking for a new hybrid turkey hatchery in Beresford.
Ground will be broken at 9 a.m. Tuesday on old Highway 77.
Hendrix Genetics is a Netherlands-based company that expects to hire 60 to 80 employees when in full production.
The Beresford operation will contain a 76,000 square ft. building on a 15 acre site off 472nd Avenue.
The business will operate 7 days a week, 24 hours a day with a capacity for 35 million hatching eggs.
The hatchery is expected to open next summer.
