Thune Introduces Legislation Aimed At Reforming TSA, Improving Passenger Experience
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota Senator John Thune has introduced legislation aimed at reforming the TSA and improving passenger experiences.
The “TSA Modernization Act” includes making it easier for passengers to enroll in the TSA pre-check program and making wait times available online. The bill would also address a shortage of trained K9 units, implement new security technology, and establish a 5-year term for the TSA administrator.
Sen. Thune, who is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, says the TSA must learn from what he called “disappointing security testing results.”
