AG: Deputy Involved Shooting In Sioux Falls Justified
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Attorney General Marty Jackley announced today that Minnehaha County Deputy Taylor Court was justified in the shooting of a man while responding to a domestic assault call last month.
Deputy court responded to the call at a trailer park home on North Cliff Avenue in the early morning hours on September 23rd. A sheriff’s office report says when Court arrived, 46-year-old Christopher Sanftleben was standing on the deck of the home with the gun.
The report says Court gave commands to put the gun down before he fired six rounds hitting Sanftleben once in the chest.
Sanftleben was taken to the hospital and did survive.
Authorities say his blood alcohol level was .233.
