City Welcomes Hunters From All Over As Pheasant Season Kicks Off

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Hunters from across the country are passing through Sioux Falls as pheasant season kicks off in South Dakota.

Today the Sioux Falls Convention and Visitors Bureau and several local businesses rolled out the red carpet for hunters arriving at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport this afternoon. For more than 20 years the CVB has been hosting the hunters celebration to provide visitors with information on area hotels, restaurants and attractions.

“It’s lot of fun, I mean there’s hunters everywhere. Dogs came in earlier. It’s fun to see people come off an airplane and greet people that they haven’t seen since last year during hunting season. See that old comradery come together,” said Teri Schmidt with the Sioux Falls Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Pheasant season opens to non residents on Saturday in South Dakota and runs through January 7th.
