Five Marshall Co. Men Arrested On Multiple Sexual Abuse Charges
MARSHALL COUNTY, S.D. – Attorney General Marty Jackley and Marshall County States Attorney Dana Frohling announced today that five Marshall county men have been arrested on multiple sexual abuse charges.
21-year-old Damon Koop was arrested on one count of possessing, manufacturing or distributing child pornography and one count of sexual exploitation of a minor.
26-year-old Luis Maaz and 28-year-old Dustin Purcell are both facing one count of 4th degree rape and one count of possessing, manufacturing or distributing child pornography.
19-year-old Michael Mejila was arrested on two counts 4th degree rape and 28-year-old Edgar Ramos was arrested on one count of 4th degree rape.
All arrested are from Britton, South Dakota.
The child pornography charges are punishable by up to 10 years. 4th degree rape is punishable by up to 15 years in the state penitentiary.
This case is being investigated by the Division of Criminal Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.
