Patient Access Representative
Position is part-time, 24 hours per two week pay period. Saturday and Sunday shifts are 7-3 pm, 8-4 pm, or 3-11 pm. Weekday shifts are 11-7 pm or 3-11 pm. Duties include answering phones coming from physicians, staff and patients. Listen to the request of the caller and connect to the appropriate specialty. The answering service agent will also schedule appointments for patients that are requesting a live interpreter. The answering service agent will also work in Sharepoint scheduling appointments for a variety of research trials.
Registers patients and takes care of related paperwork and administrative requirements of the healthcare facility. Providing clerical and secretarial duties, including patient admissions functions, bed assignments, completion of preliminary paperwork for entering patients, etc. Entering patient information into computerized system of the healthcare facility for tracking purposes. Verifying insurance or provider information and adhering to admitting policies and procedures. Assisting medical, nursing and accounting staff in ensuring appropriate patient placement.
