Sioux Falls Banquet Receives 52 Thanksgiving Turkeys From National Wild Turkey Federation

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A Sioux Falls food bank is ready for Thanksgiving dinner thanks to the help of area hunters.

The East Dakota chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation donated 52 turkeys to the Banquet this morning. They have been partnering with the food bank for the last five years to help make Thanksgiving special for those in need.

This year Target also joined in to help. The Banquet says turkey and other sources of protein are important for them to serve to guests year round. The federation says more community members need help this time of year than many realize, and that they are glad to contribute each holiday season.

“We just feel it’s a go thing to give back to those that are in need or just simply don’t have the means this time of year,” said Ron Schauer with the East Dakota Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation.

In light of the holiday meal, the Banquet says no breakfast will be served on Thanksgiving day.

Dinner will be served from 6 to 7:30 that evening.
