Citi Plans New ‘State-of-the-Art’ Facility in Sioux Falls
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Citibank is stepping up and reaffirming their commitment to Sioux Falls with plans to build a new state-of-the-art facility in the city. Plans are preliminary, however employees were notified Tuesday morning.
According to Citi Public Affairs Director Mark Rodgers, the facility will be more technologically advanced than the current site and would be completed by the end of 2019. Details on a location have not been relased. Citibank currently employs just under 2,000 people in the Sioux Falls area. 1,600 work on-site, while 200 work from home.
Governor Dennis Daugaard issued the following statement today regarding the Citibank announcement:
“I thank Citi for renewing its investment in Sioux Falls by building a new, state-of-the-art facility. Citi has been an important corporate citizen in South Dakota for more than three decades and this announcement means they’ll be in Sioux Falls for decades to come.”
The current Citi facility is located at 60th Street North on the north side of Sioux Falls. Earlier this month, Avera Health announced plans to rent 90,000 square feet of space from the Citibank location. As many as 400 workers will be moved to the site, which Avera is calling “Palisades Place.” Avera is still finalizing a timeline for their move.
