Job Description:
Full-time 64 hours per pay period
The RN functions within the scope and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the South Dakota Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules. The Sanford Nursing Practice recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation for nursing care delivery.
The RN is responsible for utilizing the professional nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in an ambulatory setting.
The RN cares for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up as patients move in and out of ambulatory care settings.
The RN is responsible for the coordination of care, patient screenings, patient education, triage, and various other medical interventions. A sampling of some of the specialized clinical skills that may be performed includes, but is not limited to, age related patient assessment and intervention, sterile field preparation, assists with minor office procedures and IV therapy. Potential to float to other departments.
Following a competency based formal orientation, clinical competence is expected. Refer to care center specific self-assessment orientation skills checklist for a delineation of specific skills and procedures performed.
May delegate to licensed and unlicensed personnel within their defined scope of practice as well as students and new orients.
When students are providing patient care, treatment, and/or services as a part of their training, any/all employees may be asked to supervise the students.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred. Minimum of one to two years of professional nursing experience in a clinic care setting preferred. In-depth knowledge of specialty area preferred. Currently licensed with the applicable State Nursing Board and/or possesses multistate licensure privileges. Functions within the legal scope of practice. BLS and ACL Certification is required.
