Ponder Wants To Learn From McNabb

Bookmark and Share

Today was the first day of practice for the Minnesota Vikings at training camp in Mankato, and getting some reps at quarterback was first round draft pick Christian Ponder.

The Florida State alum will be going head to head for the starting job with veteran Donovan McNabb, recently brought in from Washington. Ponder says despite his desire to win the right to take snaps, he wants to learn from McNabb.

"My attitude is I'm gonna go out there and compete," Ponder says, "Try and win a starting job, but at the same time try and soak up as much info as I can from a guy who's been in the pro bowl six times and been to several NFC Championships and a Super Bowl."
