Today the Vikings will pack their bags and move out of Mankato, closing training camp and getting ready to head to Tennessee for there first preseason game of the year tomorrow night.
And with that first preseason game coming, it means the first regular season game isn't far behind. As the Vikes get set to kick off 2011, it's interesting to examine the difference in expectations between last year and this year, going from top contenders to mere write-offs. The players have noticed, and they hope to feed on it.
"We feel really good about our chances," Vikings Linebacker Chad Greenway said, "And we're happy nobody else thinks that way. I think that's the way it's gonna be. It's always easier to lie in the weeds and jump up and bite somebody than it is to be in the lead of the pack, we've been on both sides now so we're hoping we can sneak up and do that."
