Vikings With High Expectations

People around the NFL think this will be a down year for the Minnesota Vikings, but the Vikes beg to differ.

"Our expectations every year are to win the North, get in the playoffs, reach the Super Bowl and win it som anything less than that, we'd be selling ourselves short." Defensive End Jared Allen said, "So those are our goals and that's what we're working hard to get to."

If they do all that they'll have to do it with some new personel. And maybe the most noticable new guy is lining up under center. Donovan McNabb likes the weapons he has to work with too.

"Handing the ball off to a guy with the strongest handshake in America in Adrian Peterson," McNabb said, "And Hutch on the offensive line with Big Mac and you just wanna make sure you're ready to go because they are as well."

Some have questioned whether or not McNabb will be ready with a new system being implemented by new offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave. But Minnesota's not too worried.

"Donovan will get caught up," Head Coach Leslie Frazier said, "He'll be caught up to speed, our coaching staff is excellent with what they're doing."

Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball, the line might suffer a tad bit with the loss of Pat Williams, his partner in crime Kevin Williams has acknowledged that.

"I had a few years without Pat before," Kevin said, "But I'm gonna miss him. It's gonna take some getting used to."

Despite the loss, the Vikings still have quite a bit of talent with former pro bowlers Antoine Winfield, E.J. Henderson, and Jared Allen. And new defensive coordinator Fred Pagac has the team excited too.

"Coach Frazier did a great job, but he was pretty laid back," Kevin said, "Coach Pagac, I guess you could say he's louder. He's definitely gonna add a spark to the defense."

And with all of that, it seems the Vikes will have plenty to be excited about when they kick off their season September 11th.
