As the temps are dipping a little lower during the day and night, the thoughts are changing with the colors of the leaves to the traditions of fall.
Thursday morning we had a very special guest, Pastor Kendall Carson joined us on the set of KDLT News Today to tell us about a family friendly activity this weekend in Brandon that celebrates a staple of the farm field in South Dakota...the scarecrow.
This is the first ever scarecrow festival at Living Springs Church in Brandon.
Families, and members of the community are encouraged to create a scarecrow and enter it Saturday morning for a chance to win prizes for the best scarecrow. Entry is between 9 a.m. and noon Sept. 17.
Also, more than 1,000 ears of corn will be roasted to enjoy all day long. The event is free and will have many attractions including inflatables, the National Guard climbing wall, and local bands playing starting at 6 p.m.
