Stampede Looking Forward To Exhibition Games

Bookmark and Share

The Sioux Falls Stampede will get their first taste of competition for the year when they take on the Des Moines Buccaneers in exhibition play Saturday in Brookings.

This year's preseason schedule is more important than ever for the Herd, as only six players are returning from last year's team. With such a high turnover, Stampede head coach Kevin Hartzell is hoping the exhibition will calm any rookie nervs.

"We need those games right now," Hartzell said, "I think our boys need to see what the competion's like, they're gonna be really nervous in their first exhibition games and USHL games so we need games, exhibition gams, probably more than any team that I've had."

Gametime Saturday up in Brookings at the Larson Ice Center is set for 7pm. The Stampede's regular season starts in Lincoln, September 30th.
