A highway that would parallel I-229 to the south and east may still be years away from completion, but project officials and homeowners near the proposed South Dakota 100 are still hammering out the details.
Portions of the road will intersect with highway eleven near 57th street.
While people voiced their concerns about how the road would affect their property values, others are more concerned with the environmental impact.
Terry Keller, The Department of Transportation Environmental Manager said there are many environmental impacts. “Potential impacts to parks and recreation areas, access controls and wetlands.”
So far there is no construction date for South Dakota 100.
Some parts of the road will depend on growth to the south and east of Sioux Falls.
