Sioux Falls Fire Rescue Buys Toys For Kids

Bookmark and Share

When they’re not fighting fires around the city, Sioux Falls Fire Rescue is making sure local kids in the hospital can have reasons to smile this holiday season.  Sioux Falls Fire Rescue is shopping for presents and giving them to kids.  This year they plan on spending over two thousand dollars on toys, money which was collected through donations.  Each gift will be individually wrapped and handed out to children at Avera, Sanford, and Children's Care Hospital tomorrow.  This is an annual tradition for the fire department.

“If you talk to Santa and see the look on the kid's face when they see Santa it shows up while they are in the hospital,  it really makes their day,” says Paul Stratmeyer from Sioux Falls Fire Rescue.

Fire fighters will meet at the fire station Friday morning and use the fire truck as Santa’s sleigh to hand out gifts.
