PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - The South Dakota High School Activities Association iadding a top-tier 11-man football class for the state's largest schools.
Class 11AAA will feature eight 11AA schools that have more than 750 students enrolled in grades 9 through 11: Sioux Falls Washington, Sioux Falls Roosevelt, Rapid City Central, Sioux Falls Lincoln, Rapid City Stevens, Aberdeen CentraWatertown and Brandon Valley.
The new 11AA will be made up of eight schools with the next highest enrollments. Each would be allowed to petition up to the higher classification, with the possibility of dropping the smallest 11AAA member down to 11AA.
