Daffodils For Cancer Patients On Sale

Bookmark and Share

The first flower to bloom in the spring is usually the daffodil, and the American Cancer Society hopes people in Sioux Falls will be willing to buy a bouquet of the yellow flowers and give them to anonymous cancer patients.

The American Cancer society will be selling arrangements of daffodils that range from $10 to $75. Teddy bears are also available for purchase for children.

One boy who was fighting leukemia last year received a teddy bear, and his aunt Kristi Curl Mandsager, who volunteers for the American Cancer Society, said the bear helped him during his time in the hospital.

"We delivered a teddy bear to him. He just loved it and hugged it," said Mandsager. "He was excited to see that somebody else would care about him.”

To order flowers you can call the American Cancer Society at 1-800-ACS-2345.
