Twins Optimistic For Better Year In 2012

Bookmark and Share

Members of the Minnesota Twins were in town Wednesday for the annual Winter Caravan and they were optimistic this will be a solid season.

The team is coming off a a year where they went 63-99, giving them the worst record in the American League. Much of the failure was due to plain old bad luck though with numerous injuries to prominent players like Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau. Because of that, players feel very confident this season will be different.

"I think this year we're all a little older," Pitcher Anthony Swarzak says, "We're gonna have some big keys in our lineup back this year and we're looking to do some damage. Don't give away that AL Central yet."

"If you remember, before the '91 World Series," Infielder Trevor Plouffe says, "In 1990 they had the worst record in the American League, rebounded with a World Series so if history repeats itself, this will be a good year."

Pitchers and Catchers will report to spring training for the Twins next month.
