The National Register of Historic Places has two more South Dakota properties.
The State Historical Society says the Marty Indian Gymnasium and St. Therese Hall in Marty and the Hardy Ranger Station in Lawrence County have been added to the federal government's list of properties it deems worthy of recognition and preservation.
Officials say the buildings in Marty are important for several reasons including early 20th century Sioux artwork. The Hardy Ranger Station built by Civilian Conservation Corps workers during the Great Depression era consists of three log buildings that were used by Forest Service workers.
