Bookmark and Share

An Aberdeen police officer who was hospitalized after his patrol car collided with another officer's car Sunday has been discharged from a local hospital.

Twenty-seven-year-old officer Mark Miller was released after suffering serious, nonlife-threatening injuries. A passenger in Miller's car, 21-year-old Ashley Elliott, has been upgraded from fair to good condition. Elliott is an intern with the police department.

The other officer involved in the accident, 28-year-old Alejandro Reyes, was discharged Sunday morning after being treated for minor injuries.

The two officers were responding to a call for help from another officer who was chasing an assault suspect on foot when the crashed occurred.
