The State Office of Emergency Management has opened a South Dakota Disaster Recovery website to help homeowners and others impacted by spring flooding.
The website, developed in 2007 and updated in response to the current flooding, can be accessed at http://disasterrecovery.sd.gov.
The site includes links to flood-related programs of a number of state agencies, offers links to numerous other disaster-recovery resources, and provides public information about the current spring flooding.
“This website provides a one-stop information shop for those impacted by flooding” said Kristi Turman, Director of the South Dakota Office of Emergency Management. “Disasters are overwhelming and trying to identify all of the available state programs and resources can be intimidating.”
The website highlights services and programs provided by South Dakota’s Departments of Health, Labor, Social Services, Human Services, and the South Dakota Housing Development Authority.
Disaster Recovery also offers links to resources available through the American Red Cross and other volunteer agencies.
