What a wild weekend!! After a snow less winter and many looking for some decent rain, I don’t think anyone was planning on this. Several inches of rain fell in more then a half dozen counties Saturday alone with plenty of rain that has been pitter-pattering across the area over the last couple of weeks. Take a peek at just some of the rain totals from Saturday in the image on your left. But now that the ground is water logged, we are back to flood conditions for much of the southeast. More then a dozen creeks, streams, and rivers are back above flood stage including the Big Sioux, Split Rock Creek, James River, Little Vermillion, and several more. Below is a look at the river levels across the southeast and their forecasted levels for the upcoming week. Also have some rainfall estimates from across the area over the last 7 and 14 days. I think its safe to say that the severe drought is ending across much of the area with the exception of a few local areas in the east. Enjoy!
