Fairgrounds Host Fireworks Show

Fireworks are a yearly tradition for many during the 4th of July holiday.

In Sioux Falls, people started arriving hours before the big show started in order to get a front and center seat to all the action.

Andrew Olson, Sioux Falls resident, said fireworks at the Sioux Empire Fairgrounds for the holiday, is a special way to spend time with his family.

"Just good old fashion, BBQ's, getting out, having a good time and seeing all the attractions around town," said Olson.

Others arrived early for the big show.

"I love fireworks because it's a great thing to have fun and blow stuff up, I mean hello," said Meyer.

"Had a hard day at work today, so I'm just really excited to relax and enjoy the show," said Hieberger.

And as people wait for the sun to go down, Olson said he's anticipating the colorful lights in the sky.

"Really good fireworks and big booms and just some good applauses going on for the city of Sioux Falls," said Olson.

Which is an explosive way to end an evening of family time during the 4th of July holiday.
